Atmosphere and Light -The Automotive Paintings of Barry Rowe

A stunning coffee table book featuring the fantastic motoring art of Barry Rowe

Barry Rowe grew-up in 1950s Coventry where his father worked at the Jaguar factory and it was from a young age that he fell in love with all things motor sport and Jaguars in particular.

His interest in drawing and painting grew rapidly and it was no surprise he became a commercial artist where he enjoyed a successful career in the advertising industry. But once his car paintings found a wider audience, he quickly progressed to becoming one of the finest motoring artists of his generation. Indeed, his artwork has adorned some of the world's finest galleries and has been purchased by many serious car collectors and art lovers.

This magnificent coffee table book contains more than 100 individual paintings and sketches, including stunning action scenes from many of the great racing events from Europe and elsewhere from the pre-war to post-war eras, plus an assortment of other illuminating historic automotive images. It also includes special paintings of some of history's greatest ever drivers, including Juan Manuel Fangio, Tazio Nuvolari, Mike Hawthorn and others. The book also contains a useful commentary from Barry Rowe about the paintings which provides both an informative insight into the background of the images, as well as many of the specific motor races and other events which are featured.

Whether you are a car fanatic or not, this stunning, richly coloured collection of beautiful artwork is a sight to behold and will leave an indelible impression on everyone who has the privilege to view them.
